How Custom Moulded Polyurethane helps Supacat and the RNLI
The Supacat Launch and Recovery System (L&RS) has been developed by Supacat in association with the RNLI, in response to a requirement for a highly mobile transport system for a new class of lifeboats.
The Brief
The RNLI needed a transport system that was highly mobile in any terrain around UK seafronts – from cobbled proms to muddy estuary banks. This launch and recovery system was required to support a new class of lifeboats the RNLI was commissioning.
What We Did
We created a flawless and trustworthy large polyurethane wheel unit to operate within the Launch and Recovery System.
We were also called on to provide other polyurethane products, including Winch Rollers, Keel Guide, wave energy converters, and Track Support Rollers.
All were crafted from a carefully formulated polyurethane mix and moulded to offer perfect functionality.
The Impact
Parts that can withstand the test of time (and tides) will provide a residual benefit to the RNLI, as the organisation relies on charitable funding to provide its service, every penny needs to be spent wisely.
