Manufacturing with MOCA
Achieving MOCA certification underscores our unwavering dedication to upholding the most stringent industry standards and ensuring top-tier quality assurance.
This certification validates our rigorous testing and assessments, guaranteeing that our products conform to the demanding criteria established by MbOCA.
How we work
We create one-off prototypes of the final design and test its performance against the agreed specification before moving to the full scale manufacture. Each stage of the process is closely monitored with a final inspection before products are packed and shipped.
Unbeatable competence in heat curing, shore hardness and colour matching is all part of the service and our attention to detail and quality control are natural parts of our daily business operations.
Where waterjet cutting fits in our process
Water jet cutting offers us two types of product, it can quickly produce a complete final part, to scale that is ready to go. Or alternatively, it allows us to produce a semi-finished or near-net-shape blank part suitable for secondary processing by conventional means.
The Role of MOCA in Polyurethane Manufacturing
MOCA has been a trusted curing agent in polyurethane manufacturing since 1954, known for its exceptional durability, high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and load-bearing capacity. Preferred for critical applications like wheels, castors, seals, and rollers, it is widely specified in component drawings, particularly in Europe.
While alternative curatives exist, they often lack the strength and cost-efficiency, and transitioning to them can lead to production downtime and increased costs. MOCA’s proven performance and reliability make it the go-to choice for manufacturers seeking high-quality, consistent results.
Is Engineered Polyurethane Worth It?
Engineered polyurethane offers numerous advantages over other materials, including rubber and metal. Its formulation can be tailored with additives and catalysts to achieve a wide range of shore hardness levels, from soft and flexible to hard and strong.
It is also resistant to abrasion, heat, cold, and chemicals, making it incredibly durable in even the harshest environments. Additionally, polyurethane is lightweight yet strong, offering significant cost and performance benefits over heavier, more expensive materials like metal.
Cost Efficiency and Durability
Engineered polyurethane offers significant cost advantages over traditional materials like metal or rubber. Despite its lightweight nature, it can be engineered to have superior load-bearing capacity and high impact resistance.
This makes it not only an economically viable option but also an incredibly durable one, providing long-lasting performance even in demanding applications. With the ability to resist wear, heat, cold, and chemicals, polyurethane ensures reduced maintenance costs and a longer product lifespan.
Customisation and Precision Polyurethane Engineering
A standout feature of engineered polyurethane is its unparalleled customization potential. We can adjust the blend of ingredients and use advanced moulding techniques. We can create parts that meet exact specifications for performance, appearance, and functionality.
Whether you need translucent components, color-coded parts, or complex shapes, engineered polyurethane offers exceptional precision, allowing for parts that are as intricate as they are durable.
Applications Across Many Sectors
Engineered polyurethane’s versatility makes it indispensable across various industries, from automotive and aerospace to agriculture and manufacturing.
Its durability and customization capabilities make it suitable for a broad spectrum of applications, including seals, wheels, gaskets, bushings, and more. No matter the sector, engineered polyurethane continues to provide innovative solutions for creating high-performance, bespoke components tailored to specific needs.
